Grow into a routine

It took me a few years of working from home to figure out that I needed to get on some type of schedule. My schedule is flexible, but for the most part I work out early, take a shower, get dressed and make the 5-second commute to my home office. There are days though, when I head to my home office in my workout clothes—fully intending to exercise after I post my daily blog—and before I know it, it’s noon. Sound familiar?

Work schedules intimidate some folks, while others function well within certain time constraints. Follow a work schedule as much as possible to keep your productivity high and your motivation strong. You may feel more productive in the morning, so schedule your important tasks during that time. If you feel inspired after lunch to tackle big projects, schedule those tasks in the afternoon. Common sense, right? Then why doesn’t everyone do it?

Think of a schedule as a way to keep you focused without feeling confined. After all, the beauty of working naked is that you can set your own hours.
